well imagine my surprise when I really started lookng at this situation here with the aviation problems and much to my surprise I discovered that there are no less than 5 political organizations involved in all things aeronautico here in brasil.
1. Anac
2. Ministro da defesa
3. Infraero
4. Conac
5. Cenipa
People people, in the USA there is ONE, count ´em 1, organization that takes care of not only airline matters but also train, highways, buses, or any kind of transportation. It is called the NTSB (National Transportation and Safety Bureau). YEP the folks who are looking at the Black Box from the latest TAM disaster at the Congonhas aircraft landing strip. By the way, there are at least 5 other airports built with this same style among them Tegel in Berlin, who have at least enough spare area to go off the runway with out killing everyone if they cant get the plane stopped for whatever reason.
SO:
Why the Ministry of Defense??? Non military airline flights are a civil matter. (I thought at least in most countries they are)
2. Gives lots of room for finger pointing doesn´t it?
The answer I get from most brasilians is this: " well this is a throwback from the old military dictatorship" ergo, more organizations means more pies for politicos to stick their fingers in which is really what it is all about isnt it?
My question is this: why dont they take a clue from countries who have a tranportation bureau in place that actually works just fine with only ONE organization to keep track of things.Maybe the brasilian government should take a lesson from other less confused and more streamlined governments and try to straighten this mess out.
